Robby Gordon and Todd Romano enter 2016 King of the Hammers in Arctic Cat Wildcats

UPDATE: It’s been confirmed that Arctic Cat will be entering 2 of their Wildcat 1000s into the 2016 King of the Hammers race driven by Robby Gordon and Todd Romano (Founder and president of Dragonfire Racing and co-founder of SPEED RMG).

The Wildcats will be similar to the ones we’ve seen on the internet catching huge air in Glamis over Thanksgiving and currently driven at the Super Stadium Trucks races. These machines do employ the proprietary trailing arm design which will definitely have a leg up on the competition with it’s superior ground clearance. We look forward to watching the action.

Check out the King of the Hammers Facebook page for the latest KOH news and as always stay tuned to our Facebook page for the newest SXS rumors and information.

Posted early this morning UTV Underground announced that Robby Gordon has entered King of the Hammers with an Arctic Cat Wildcat. With Robby being sponsored by Arctic Cat, we hope to see him driving a prototype next-gen Wildcat! At a minimum, we expect to see a “best of the best” machine with the Robby Gordon designed trailing arms, tall 30″ tires, and the high-output Arctic Cat H2 engine.

For you who do not know, last years 2015 King of the Hammers SXS class was nearly won by a showroom stock 2015 Arctic Cat Wildcat Sport 700. The machine was equipped with ONLY wheels/tires (29 inch Bighorns) and placed second in the Pro-UTV class against fully modified 1000cc race machines. We hope to see Robby take first!

We’ll update this post when we learn more about the machine Robby will be piloting. Until then, keep up with us on our Facebook page and watch us wrench and beat on our junk at our YouTube page.

  1. I have 2014. Wildcat X. Have done every wildcat bolt on. Looking forward to purchase of the 2017. As I have asked Mile 0. Is my Dealer for the 1st one that comes in the door.

    • Hey James! I’ve had a 2012 and recent got a 2013.5. I am also to eagerly awaiting the 2017 model! I believe August will be the time frame for some sort of reveal and hopefully they will be in dealers hands between then and November. That’s peak dune season for the west coast so that should be a good test for the new model. I am constantly searching for news about the new model so keep a close eye on the site and our Facebook page.

  2. Nice! I’m excited to see what a properly factory backed team at KOH can do with the 1000.
