  1. Best believe factory utv will have full skid packages when this comes out! 😉

  2. Steven Bell | August 19, 2015 at 6:49 pm |

    Very cool

  3. It looks like this is what we’ve all been waiting for! Cannot wait for this to come out and see how it changes the UTV market.

  4. Looks like this is what we’ve all been waiting for! Cannot wait for this to come out and see how it changes the UTV market.

  5. The detail description says that it can be manually shifted or automatically shifted with no input from the driver or both, so they have the bases covered. It also says the clutch could be a wet multi plate or a single dry plate so they covered that too.

  6. Drivetrain info was released by CARB earlier this week. 998 cc, 112 hp, 5 speed manual.

  7. September 1 can’t get here soon enough

  8. Ruben Villa | August 20, 2015 at 3:45 pm |

Just the fact the Yamaha came out with something is exciting .. We know this is just the beginning. They will be on top before you know it . Once the after market world over it , Exhaust, Turbo , programmers etc…

  9. Ricochet Off-Road will have skid plates in Aluminum and UHMW. Of course with more options than anybody else including anodized colors and custom laser cuts too!

That’s my video of the prototype, that is the first design and they are on to the 3rd.I know what will be in it for a motor and how much power will be in it, and all the speculation is wrong

    • James fisher | August 25, 2015 at 10:58 pm |

Keep holding off buying a sport sxs.. Waiting to see what AC does to improve the X, and if they get it right.

The letter is actually two pages – there is a second page to that Dealer Bulletin that states:

“ORVs already titled as an assembled vehicle are not affected. The titles can be transferred and the vehicle will retain its status as an assembled vehicle.”

That does not give me comfort at all. A “Dealer Bulletin”, while it may have the force of regulation, guarantees NOTHING with regards to “grandfathering” currently street-legal SxSs like my Ranger.

I’ll be contacting my State Rep and State Senator, as well as the Secretary of State’s Office and sharing my concerns. Thanks for posting this.

    • Thank YOU for being involved! I’ll look for the second page to post as well, but agree that even currently plated SxSs could be at risk. And even if they get to keep their status, that is little consolation to the many who are currently stuck in the system or looking to street-legal their rides in the future.

  12. While this may seem a step in the wrong direction for UTV inthusiets, In many and most county’s Atv’s and UTV’S are legal on all roads except the Highways. This has little to no affect in the Upper Peninsula.

    • That’s a good point Dan, and we’re happy that many counties have made the decision to allow ORV access. Remember though, in these areas there is often a 25mph speed limit and you must stay on the shoulder of the road. While the access is great, it is nice to be able to travel at the speed limit making it more convenient to move around. There are also many trail systems & parks in the lower peninsula that are in counties which unfortunately don’t allow ORV travel.

  13. Everyone look closely. Same gauge cluster as the Yamaha/Arctic Cat Triple Cylinder snowmobiles. I would buy this using a design and engine together with Yamaha. Can’t wait to see what comes out!

    • Wow nice catch!!!!! I wonder if that let’s any cats out of the bag? It sure sounded like a twin cylinder in the video though…?

  14. That was hilarious, certainly haven’t had anything like that happen before. Good read!

  15. Thanks for reading, and glad you found it as funny as we did. It was definitely an entertaining afternoon!

  16. Great story, and keep up the good work!

  17. Brad Pollington | September 1, 2015 at 1:40 am |

    Price tag?????

  18. Brad Pollington | September 1, 2015 at 9:06 am |

    Nice!

  19. Someone please tell me they will be unveiling this in a 4 seat version as well…

  20. Mark Bommerscheim | September 1, 2015 at 9:21 pm |

It’s about time the best never rest! I’m one of Yamsha’s number one fan. It took us long enough

  21. I cannot wait for the aftermarket to step up with new parts for this machine! I saw yesterday that Mountain Performance has a new turbo kit available with possible HP numbers up to 300!

  22. i have a yaahma 660 and a yaahma 350 they r good for oklahoma but all i do with them mostley is drive down the roads from my house to town but they r very good atvsif u want to pull stuff get the lowered gear 350 if u want to off road get the 660 we have about 150 acres of land and what we do here is nothing like u have so just test drive them on your place and c what works for u yaahmas are kinda hard to start in the cold if u can get honda they r the best for hard work on a farm

  23. In my opinion, the one shown in the video is the Robby Gordon Racing version used for the racing series. This would make sense as a new consumer model will not be that long. I think the new unit will be the triple cylinder motor. That is what I am rooting for at least.

  24. Was so excited about this new vehicle I had to create a forum for it! Cannot wait..

  25. The video you have posted is me and my machine. While you all have your opinion of how I seemed to be handling it hear is inaccurate. you weren’t in the car with me. several factors here attributed to the clutch failing. not my leg trying out for step aerobic either. firstly I am a skilled knowledgeable driver operator pilot. That being said nothing prior to this incident harmed or degraded this machine in any way. I can drive let me tell you. so back to the water crossing. as I entered the water the low aero dynamic front dove in the water and put serious traction to front end with all that weight and no real bottom end I had to feather clutch a little to get her going I’ve done this in many a machine truck car bike quads you name it and never broke anything so after only 3 quick feathering of the clutch it went. Hardly seems right for a brand new machine this stout. I love the machine. I grew up on YZ 250 465 & 490 all built to the hilt they would shred tires and I was sick on them I’ve run banshee since they came out in 89 still have 4 of them I love them. this machine shouldn’t have completely failed. Notice period. it should not have failed. now hindsight I should’ve put it in 2 wd nailed it right out the gate and wheelied across. I do love it it is well put together however this clutch is too weak. There is a cockpit video also on my page.

    • Thanks for the comment Nick. There is no doubt that these clutches are not as robust as we’d like them to be, and our comments about your driving are meant only to get a laugh. What’s the status on getting your machine repaired?

  26. Glen Williams | November 8, 2015 at 6:01 pm |

Let start out by saying that I’m 60 years old and have purchased several utvs over the past decade or so. I live in Auburn Ca. When I heard of the new YXZ coming out I decided it would be my next purchase. While waiting for the units to arrive at the dealerships I researched my options for an after market turbo. After reading many different forums and blogs I thought my best choice would be Mountain Performance Inc. due their experience with the 3 cylinder engine and their experience with turbos in general. I ‘m not good with working on such things and needed a product that was truly (turn key) and they indicated it was.A local dealership gave me a call and indicated they just got their first YXZ in. I went to take a look and made the purchase. At this time the Turbos weren’t available for distribution yet though my name was on the list. I had chosen a local service and repair facility in Auburn to do the install (A & J Vehicle care). Then spoke to the owner Brian and he indicated he would call MPI and speak with Tech. Support before he would agree to the install. I choose Brian for the job due to his attention to detail and top quality work he had done for me in the past. A week later he called me back and indicated he had spoke to Josh at tech support on 2 different occasions and was very impressed. Not only was he able to speak to a real person they incredibly knowledgeable of turbs and yamahas. Josh had all the answers for what questions he had. He agreed to the install and agreed with me on the choice I made on MPI. They called me on Nov. 2nd and was told my unit was shipped. I got the turbo on Nov. 5th. I opened the box just to check it out and boy was I shocked. The most professional packing job that I have ever experienced. Picture perfect and my first thought was if the instructions and install go so professional we have a winner! I took the YXZ and Turbo to Brian on Thur. after so he could fit me in on Friday due to the fact he had other jobs in. He called me on Saturday to come pick it up. He went on and on at what a complete package MPI had and how easy the instructions where to work with. Two thumbs up from him. The install looked like it was factory. We were able to test drive yesterday Nov. 7th and all I can say is “Bad Ass”. Everything I had hoped for. This is my first time to post such a posting for anyone or any company and I truly believe that MPI is a top notch company as well as manufacturing a top notch product. Good Value, Good Product, and Good People working there. A very, very professional company. A company I truly feel will be there for me if needed. So far as Yamaha goes I’m still waiting for accessories to become available. I have installed a Mirror, Whips, Temp gauge, but would like a half windshield and the rear storage box. I will be going to Dumont Dunes over Thanksgiving for 9 days and can hardly wait. Best to all, Glen.

  27. This is great news for not only our sport but for our state! Thank you to all the sponsors of this bill and let’s all keep this ball rolling!

  28. Thanks for sponsoring this bill!!! All of us really appreciate this!

  29. Thank you for keeping up the fight. I had spent all my money to buy all the equipment but I hadn’t been able to get my paper work completed intime.

  30. Melissa Preston | November 13, 2015 at 9:27 pm |

Thanks for the update and working on this. And most importantly thank you to the representatives that sponsered this bill. Now it’s up to us to start blasting their emails and making phone calls to Lansing.

  31. This is great news. I was in the process of purchasing my side by side when the ability to register it for street use was denied. I was fully planning to register it so we could travel to trails and the dunes without trailering, which takes up large amount of space which is not always readily avail.

  32. Thanks a lot to everyone who kept the pressure on for this bill!! We need this not only for our sport but also it will bring a lot of money to our state and businesses. Keep up the good work!!

  33. really, is that what Gary V. said? I didn’t hear that on the video.
as mush as I love Yamaha and own Yamaha’s they fired the first shot in August.
    This blog is PATHETIC!

    • Thanks for commenting robert! We’ll begin working on an article explaining where to find a sense of humor here shortly, so stay tuned!

  34. Harold Sears | November 14, 2015 at 9:24 pm |

Thank you Rep. Roberts for bringing this forward. The policy change should have never been made in the first place. The effects of the change are far reaching from a blow to Michigan Tourism (hotels, restaurants, gas stations, repair shops, misc. small business owners, etc.), to lost revenue for registrations and insurance, to lost sales for our dealerships, to the many hard working people that essentially wasted thousands of dollars upgrading their vehicles that now cannot be used the way they wanted to use them.

I was one of the people that spent thousands to make my vehicle comply and was only about a week away from my inspection when the policy change was made.

I support! Please keep up the fight!

  35. Please see this site: http://www.michiganvotes.org/2015-HB-5037

Lots of comments have been posted here as well.

  36. Thank you Rep. Roberts for all your efforts with pushing HB 5037 forward. Having completed all the necessary modifications,I just cannot express the level of frustration on the rule change.

  37. I didnt know polaris held a big state fairesque retreat for mentally handicapped people. Good job polaris but everyone ther is still gonna eat sand.

  38. After riding both the YXZ and XPT, I’m a little torn between the two. I enjoy the shifting until I crack my first beer. After that, it’s a pain trying to hold the can between my legs while shifting and clutching. The fact that it rides like a European sports coup is also a little disappointing. I don’t want to feel like I’m in a Mazaratti when I roll through the trailer park, I want to be able to roll at a snails pace so that all my neighbors can drool over my new ride. My hero Tripp Pullens wouldn’t approve of the cup holders being so far out of reach either.

  39. I bought one of these and I love it best money spent no kidding. you get real confidence when knowing how hot the belts getting, and can trane your driving style to prolong belt live, all my RZR buddies are going to buy it. by far the best money Ive spent on my RZR by this instead of a spare belt. it works that good..

  40. I have 2014. Wildcat X. Have done every wildcat bolt on. Looking forward to purchase of the 2017. As I have asked Mile 0. Is my Dealer for the 1st one that comes in the door.

    • Hey James! I’ve had a 2012 and recent got a 2013.5. I am also to eagerly awaiting the 2017 model! I believe August will be the time frame for some sort of reveal and hopefully they will be in dealers hands between then and November. That’s peak dune season for the west coast so that should be a good test for the new model. I am constantly searching for news about the new model so keep a close eye on the site and our Facebook page.

  41. Nice! I’m excited to see what a properly factory backed team at KOH can do with the 1000.

  42. This is Yamaha product #21 for me. I am not new to the use of a clutch. I have always been happy with my YAMAHA’S, but after only 4 hours in the dunes mu clutch began to slip and quickly burned out. Yamaha did a good faith act and put $250 toward the repair, but I went with the Barnett from Alba. It feels a lot better, but only time will tell how long it will last.

    • Rob, that’s what a lot of people have been saying about their clutch failures. No abuse, no big slipping, just failure with regular driving. There was a rumor that some of the clutch springs were weak from the factory and the clamping force wasn’t sufficient enough. I admittedly don’t keep up much with the YXZ forums so I don’t know if this has been substantiated or not. Keep us updated on how the clutch upgrade works out for you. Thanks for the comment!

  43. You are correct in that the new Wildcat will have that motor, but it will be downsized to 999cc to meet EPA regs, power estimations are closer to 135hp and 165hp for the NA and Turbo.
Cat initially designed the transaxle that is in the Sport, to possibly be used in other applications such as the fullsized Wildcat. The rest of your summations are right in line.
2017 will be a game changer..

    • Thanks for the comment Darryl! After that video of the prototype came out in was only a matter of time until we put the pieces together. We are beyond excited for whats to come!

  44. The roll cage appears to be improved greatly as well. Much needed.

  45. I hope arctic cat steps up their game, but I do not believe that it will be a game changer. The can am turbo is already capable of near 180hp with a simple ecm reflash, and the rzr is at 144. @ an estimate of 165-175 they will only be in range. I think if they want to change the game they will need 175hp along with a major redisign in the looks dept.

    • Ryan, those numbers are a conservative estimate by us. We’ve been gathering more info and will be releasing more accurate specs eventually. Stay tuned!

  46. 2013 wild cat owner. LONE WOLF WITH ALL THESE RZRs.mine is great handling,, great suspension , great reliability. 6870 miles hard driving. only one belt. replaced the tie rods due to being broadsided by a 300 chrysler while parked at my shop. engine is way down on power compared to other brands. can stay with a 1000 RZR in any rough country, especialy in corners. sand is another story. tires suck in rocks . weak side walls. sedonia rip saws are better wear and don’t rock break. YES WE NEED A NEW MOTOR.

  47. nope I have 2012 n worse thing I did was buying this turn blows belts ever 100 mile n no one will help on it articat won’t even give me the time of the day

  48. That’s funny pat AC replaces whole motors for people out of warranty and they won t help you better try a new dealer

  49. …oh yes im lookin forward to that…go robby!! 🙂

  50. We have a patent pending clutch solution availble now, along with some different transmission gearing options for the enviroment the Yamaha YXZ1000R will be opperated in. See our instragram tube_works or facebook too. We just completed a top 10 position in the King Of The Hammers with Jason Weller using our Transmisdion and clutch mod.

  51. I’ll bet that the motor they are running in that prototype they brought out on stage is not whats actually going in there.. sounds like the 2012 cat with a shitty slip on.. if they are smart they will put that 1049 yamaha triple in there like yamaha should have done with the yxz.. it’ll be around 135 hp NA.. add turbo and you’re at 180 easy with low boost and still reliable. It would make sense. . They are using it in their sleds.. I’d assume they have some kind of rights to that motor. . It’d destroy anything out there.. I think it’d even handle that rzr turbo.. the cat already handles better than anything. . I had a cat loved the chassis.. just bought the yxz and love it by the way.. but if they put 135 hp in the wildcat I’ll be jealous of anyone who owns one.

  52. …ps I heard yamaha may put their 4cyl 155hp motor in the next version of yxz… a little off topic but if they are really doing that then they know someone else is really gunna bring it and the 135 hp motor ain’t gunna cut it.. maybe because they already know cat us going to use that.. and yamaha would have to know that so…

  53. Factory doors and harness/bar would be real nice as factory equipment. With good clutching the new Mav could really be a rzr competitor. Hopefully the seats are dropped a little closer to the floor as well.

  54. Tracy Rossman | February 24, 2016 at 10:58 pm |

I have just heard a big fat rumor of Arctic Cat pulling the plug on the deal with Robby Gordon! How true is this…I certainly hope it is NOT. Anyword regarding this situation?

    • Tracy, the only thing RG related that was flushed was the 2016.5 “Special Edition.” There will still be a 2017 model with all the hot RG parts.

  55. Tracy Rossman | February 26, 2016 at 8:50 am |

Thanks for the quick reply regarding the rumor of RG and AC! Here is another question…anything going on with a sport model from Honda…dam that would be way sweet!

    • So far we’ve seen nothing. Of course after Yamaha came out with someone people will assume Honda will also, and everything that’s been brought up recently is pure speculation. We only report on facts, so if/when we hear something from a confirmed source we’ll report on it.

  56. Tracy Rossman | March 1, 2016 at 8:31 am |

Sure hope this release info. is correct! Spoke with an AC rep this weekend in vegas and she says it will be pretty bad ass….fingers crossed!

  57. I will never but another arctic cat I have had nothing but problems with mine

    • Sorry to hear that Jason! I bought a used (and likely abused) 2012 that had problems also. I then bought a used (and not abused!) 2013.5 that has been flawless. I will buy another if they hit this 2017 out of the park!

  58. Sure hope they do better than Polaris at making a clutch… A guy on their forum has manufactured a fix and has it in production while Polaris has bumbled around for months replacing bum clutches with more bum ones.
    http://www.rzrforums.net/rzr-xp-turbo/190761-xpt-clutch-problem-24.html#post2748778

  59. Buggy bandit | March 2, 2016 at 10:35 pm |

I have a 2014 wildcatX when she’s running I love it but i had a lot of problems with this machine a little over 1600 miles and blew the engine so second guessing to buying another one only problem nothing handle’s as good yet

  60. Yes and yes
It IS just another thing to break, and yep, I’d buy it.

  61. I’m certainly interested

  62. Josh Brandt | March 15, 2016 at 1:46 pm |

Literally lol’ed. The picture in the van is the best!

  63. This is great news…. Only one problem, if they are going to use yamah as chassis we have just lost the greatest riding sxs and Polaris will now claim the title with the rzr xp

    • Kyle, thanks for the comment! We’re assuming Arctic Cat will maintain their current (or very similar to) chassis to separate themselves from Yamaha. The only thing shared will be the base engine/supercharger configuration.

  64. Nick Cosentino | April 12, 2016 at 8:20 am |

This ad was the biggest load of crap I’ve seen in a long time. I really enjoyed the lie about the price that was a doozy you should I use bold letters for that one.

    • Hey Nick, good or bad I appreciate your comment. What exactly was your issue with the write up?

  65. Nothing will change it will be all the same shit, just like apple iphones same shit, arctic products seems like there company is going right down the shitter

  66. the news must be no news as far as belts on mavericks are concerned! all maverick turbos do is smoke belts, yet can am wont address this issue…..lame,yours truly, a regretful owner….

  67. Thanks nick for the reply, been away from the site for a while lol, I love what you are doing here lots of great info and keeps me on my toes haha.
I’m only waiting to see what they have to offer, the wildcat is the best riding but leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to the rest as in looks and performance, the new Polaris general is interesting not as a rider but the interior it is on a whole other level. It is very car like if cat could have something similar with performance to back it up and the ride we all love! They might have a winner

    • I wouldn’t be surprised to see AC leave some things on the table as far as creature comforts go. Their interior has always been “enough” but never “too much” in terms of quality and features. I think they will focus so much on performance and handling that it may be possible to overlook the lack of amenities. And to me at least this makes sense. I’d rather be bragging about how I can go 70mph over 3 foot whoops and not how nice my digital speedometer is.

  68. What did the RZR say to the Can-AM? I do not Re-Call?

  69. When brand new put in recluse clutch and Barnett plates was super easy on it and burned it out right away bummer right yep

  70. Kevin Reese | May 20, 2016 at 3:17 pm |

Tube works has the clutch mod fix. Not enough oil is the problem with the stock clutch boss, Not the plates.I have the mod which allows 300% more oil to the plates. My stock plates were dry.Ive been abusing it with no failure with a completely stock clutch and pressure plate!!!!

  71. I own Arctic Cat Wildcat and it’s brand new. After reading the blog I think I should be careful while riding it.

  72. You ppl a total fags if this was a popo you would be running one off in your moms ass can am are like trump in your face and for the ppl popo are like a Clinton over rated and broken

  73. Let’s first address the Wolverine’s 708cc single. What we have here is an incremental bump in power although perhaps not the 1000cc twin the Internet demanded. However, we will say this incremental bump in power is noticeable.

  74. Do you think this YXZ could possibly be a 60″ trail version? I noticed in the video the YXZ was driving passed some trees. That made me wonder if Yamaha was hinting that this could be a trail version of the YXZ.

    • Honestly Josh we just don’t know at this point. It would make sense for them to market this to the “trail” guy, but I don’t know how much more of an advantage 60″ is over 64″.

  75. ljwilliams | June 7, 2016 at 11:55 pm |

Will the 2017 can am outlander xmr have the air ride system again?

  76. Let’s see what all the hype is about!

  77. Anonymous | June 8, 2016 at 12:13 pm |

THANKS FOR DOING THIS UPDATE, WORK NAZI WONT LET VIDEOS PLAY SO THIS IS ALL I HAVE

  78. Thanks for these updates as the work Nazi has our web access and videos on lock down

  79. I was really hoping for more of a trail version of the YXZ with a lower gear ratio and better low end torque.

  80. South FL Mud Club | June 8, 2016 at 12:57 pm |

Is anything else coming? I need a Wolverine 4 so i don’t have to buy a ranger or teryx.

  81. Wonder if you would be able to convert a 2016 YXZ to this new type of transmission modification? Would be interesting to see…?

  82. You do a awesome job keeping us updated. Your site is always the first place I go for breaking news on new models . Any new info on the next rzr?

  83. Does this mean we might see a 50″ sxs for Yamaha? I hope so!

  84. Is this a picture of the new can am Maverick 2017 model, when is the 2017 model getting released

  85. Anonymous | July 4, 2016 at 7:48 pm |

My 2012 cat just replacde the belt a month ago almost 4000 mile and 4years in n original belt I think most of issues are driver ha it

  86. Keep up the good work boys! This is always our first stop for UTV news and speculation!

  87. Douche bags r us | July 21, 2016 at 1:10 pm |

It’s obvious popo must have you guys on the payroll. As I read all of the articles, it’s more than obvious that you’re biased towards popo. Every popo article is full of dick riding, and deep throating of popo cock. Then you have the can am articles, or the lack thereof intelligent unbiased writing. And no, I don’t own a canam so I’m not butt hurt and defending a brand I own. I’m in the market for a sxs and have been scouring the net reading helpful reviews, and feedback to help in my upcoming purchase.

    • Douche Bag (you picked the name), if you take the time to review all of our articles, you’ll see that Polaris is actually our least represented brand. That’s partly due to the fact that none of us that run this site own one. We’re just calling it as we see it, and we were disappointed in the lack of updates from Can-Am for 2017.

  88. How about a XPT with General interior!

  89. love your simple site and always seem to have your info spot on

  90. Doug you are spot on, I think D-bag is a little butt hurt his new can-ams only update is a color lol

  91. Douche bags r us | July 25, 2016 at 3:58 pm |

I’m going to assume you didn’t read my post to its entirety. As stated in my first post, I don’t own a sxs at all. Merely searching the net for any and all helpful reviews to determine which sxs will be my best option. And HEAVY on the “helpful reviews” part.

  92. What about the maverick x3??

  93. And what about the new Maverick X3?

    • When this article was written (June 1st) Can Am had not yet said a word about the X3. As far as we know the only place to even mention it at all was one out of the country BRP dealer’s Facebook page. We’re working on gathering more info and doing an article soon!

  94. George Gillman | July 26, 2016 at 9:29 am |

I’ve always bought Polaris, but I’ve most likely bought my last, love the style, and performance, but the costs of your ATVS have gotten way to expensive for me and most of my friends, warrantys suck too,6 months isn’t Shit, when other manufacturers have several years, without buying added warranty, thanks will keep my 2013 Ranger 6×6

  95. How about the Maverick X3 that is coming out in August?

  96. splitsworldX | July 28, 2016 at 8:39 am |

Hmm. Clean looks…I am not a Can Am guy but will there be a 4 seater at launch? Or does CanAm wait for a few months before releasing them like some of the other manufacturers? I was looking at buying a RZR 4 seat turbo but now i may have to wait…I mean i have to wait anyways with a stop ride/stop sale BS anyway 🙂 Split

    • As unpredictable as Can Am has been, I wouldn’t totally be surprised if they did release a 4 seater. But I’d put my money on them NOT doing it (pretty much following what everyone else does as you’ve said). I think they need to properly gauge the market size with a machine like this before plopping down extra r&d cash to make a 4 seater work.

  97. splitsworldX | July 28, 2016 at 9:03 am |

Thanks Nick,,looks remarkably similar to your article earlier this year 🙂

    http://sxsblog.com/index.php/2016/02/06/the-new-can-am-maverick-is-coming-yep-we-said-it/

Judging by the pics, it does look like they moved the rear wheels back. One of the things i have always disliked about the CanAm models is it looks like the driver sits so far back as to almost be in line with the rear wheel (2 seater anyway). I am not sure of the weight biased but this photo looks like the driver is more centered in the SxS.

  98. out of curiosity , where did the yellow prototype picture come from? just curious because it is being thrown around like it is an official picture on facebook sites

    • It’s certainly not ours but I came across it probably close to 2 years ago on some forum (I can’t remember!). It’s shocking how similar it looks to the actual X3!

Re: Safety Recall Notice Alert Z-16-02 : VIN # 3NSVFE925GFxxxxxx

    To Polaris Legal Department;

I have received your recall notice/stop ride notice on August 2, 2016 attached hereto.

I have over $45 k invested in this brand new Polaris Razor, all receipts and photos are on file. I have contacted Polaris and was given case # 3769xxx by Jeremy in Consumer Relations Tier 2.

    Due to the fact that Polaris does not have a fix and is not offering to buy back my Razor ;

BY THIS LETTER I AM PUTTING POLARIS ON NOTICE that unless Polaris either offers a fix for my Razor in the next 15 days or buys back my Razor in that same time period then I will continue to operate the vehicle for the uses I understood the Razor to be used for when I purchased the vehicle.

Not using my Razor was not part of our original contractual purchase, selling me something that Polaris is now deeming to be unusable was not the original understanding for the purchase agreement of this vehicle.

THIS LETTER ALSO SERVES AS NOTICE after the 15 days, that I will continue to use my Razor for its intended purpose and any damage that occurs as a result of these known and identifiable manufacturer defects will be the sole responsibility and liability of Polaris.

Polaris’s inability or unwillingness to fix the defects or finance a buy back of the Razor in no way should effect my quite enjoyment of the product purchased .

    Regards,

    Suzanne M Frost, PLLC

  100. When can we expect the release of the Turbos? I have waited 2 months & can’t wait much longer to not be riding with my friends & turbo is the only thing in a Polaris that I want. May have to start looking at can ams or Yamahas

  101. Wait a second, can am put a three link on the x3???

I guess they are playing follow the leader?

  102. Actually it may be a modified three link with a toe link as well. Notice the three links on the back of the trailing arm…

  103. When will we get to purchase a turbo

  104. when will the new wildcat be coming out. we heard late 2016 now nothing.

  105. any further info on 2017 wildcat. really interested.

  106. So if the motor and Ecu are the same can the 2016 turbo be reprogrammed to 165 hp ?

  107. Hey to pop your bubble but the new 2017 Yamaha YXZ is out and there’s no supercharger.

  108. We are still waiting for our RZR 900 to be fixed from the recall. It’s September and they tell us the part still is not in. We are pist. We still have to make the payments and keep insurance on it. Now the summer is over, we could of had a lot of fun. But no it just sits in the garage. I think the manufacturer should make it right for us, it’s like paying for a dead horse. Summer is over and I can’t ride in the cold. We have had our name on the list to get our side by side fixed. Dose anyone know of a lawsuit for people that has waited this long. I’m so up set about this. Please if anyone’s what we can do that we be so appreciate.

  109. I feel you. I just got into a new XP1k at the pinnacle of that model. My thought there is Polaris will release a new chassis for the MY18 XP platforms and the obvious cost downs in the MY17 XP1k shows that that model will be relegated to a cost reduced entry XP platform. I to could not bring my self to spend the extra 5K for the turbo. Now knowing the the new XPT will come in at 168 HP and the Can -Am X3 is out there at 154 HP the numbers do make you feel a little behind the curve for a new machine. I find solace in the fact the my XP1K is a very capable machine that does not take more than buckling up in it to put a smile on my face. Welcome the the very happy B squad.

  110. So Can Am drops their trail arm (TTA) suspension on the Maverick in favor of a 5 link on the X3 and Arctic Cat goes the opposite direction. What is going on? Tell me the rear of that AC doesn’t like the rear of a Can Am Renegade or Outlander.

  111. Will the new trailing arms be able to fit on other years? I have a 2014 4 seater.

  112. But they still have a mass recall/ do not ride order on all turbos do to fire and death issues.

  113. Don’t trust Polaris any more I ordered the new Can-Am X3

  114. Nice! It’s no wonder that Polaris outsells the competition easily! Way to go Polaris.

  115. Was waiting for the 2017 Polaris RZR Turbo but decided to pull the trigger on the Maverick X3 X DS Turbo. Looks like Polaris has dealt with their cooling and drive line issues on the new turbo but they screwed up big time and lost my confidence. Might consider them again in a couple years when I’m ready to buy again.

  116. Tired of waiting for Polaris to put out a machine that’s complete for $24000. Bought an x3. Bye bye Polaris

  117. looks the sxs market is doin the same BS to sell their products…like the motorcycle companies…more HP and electronics every year- prices increasin like crazy- 30 tsd $$ next 40 tsd $ !??

  118. Your thoughts on purchasing a new X3 or Yamaha SS

  119. Jason Winchester | October 5, 2016 at 7:56 pm |

I have less than 6 hours on my rig and my clutch is gone. We are at Little Sahara. I wasn’t on the sand for an hour and I hit some soft sand on a hill and it was gone. My buddies in 2 polaris rzr’s just walked away. Less than impressed.

  120. Do you make a model that will fit a 2017 Polaris General 4?

  121. I have a 2014 cat x. I’ve done major remodeling including EPI clutch and blower fan and temp guage, if you never heat the belt they will last forever, when crawling go into low range. Once you heat that belt one time the belt is junk.trust me i ride mine hard but keep the belt cool. I ride glamis and these guys go thru belts on RZR’S all day and night.

  122. i think that polaris should come out with a 3 cylinder engine turbo and non turbo and change the body style , i think if i change my rzr 1000 2015 for the new 2017 turbo will be a waste of money because next year they might change the car and engine.. polaris is dissapointing right now..

  123. Hi, I just bought my Yamaha yes 1000 this aug of 2016 , ride the beast for almost 1 month and half , and after my service was finished , I went to dumont dunes for 3 hrs of riding in the dunes, total riding hr was around 21 hrs , my clutch start to feel weird, and yes I’ve been driving stick for almost 15 yrs of experience , owned couple Dort bikes and street bike but nothing like this that fails right away, my side by side is in the dealer right now waiting to get check, I was wondering did ur warranty cover all the expense? I got the extended warranty but clutch issue sometimes they won’t core, what are ur thoughts about my situation?

  124. I went on to your website and didn’t find any stickers how do I get the stickers

  125. A few points of interest here, in one of the videos posted on Instagram, you can hear a shift, at the end of the video, after the Wildcat passed by. Gives thought to a possible manual transmission.
My next point is, as evidenced by the entries from Todd Romano, Sheldon Creed and Jaime Romero, all in the UTV Pro-Forced Induction Class, keep in mind, this class is for Production based machines. If you read the class rules, CR 23, CR 25 and CR 48, clearly state that the motor, trans and frame (chassis) must use as in OEM. ie: CR 23-Must use stock forced induction OEM engine. Engine must remain in stock location. CR 25-Must use stock OEM transmission in stock location. CR 48- Must use stock frame with stock pivot points. Must retain stock UTV appearance.
If SCORE maintains the integrity of their own rules, then this would have to be based on the new Wildcat XX, as a pre-production UTV, to fit within the class rules.
Last, what better way to generate excitement (which is much needed to bring back lost customers), than to place top 10, or win the Baja 1000, in a machine that Arctic Cat can say was a near stock machine (with safety and SCORE additions). The appearance may change slightly, radiator locations and cage may change some, but I think we are seeing the base chassis and engine, of the Wildcat XX. Lets hope that these great drivers, can put this machine on the podium and help save the Arctic Cat Corporate image.

  126. New photos coming in, do show it is a CVT and 3 cylinder.

  127. The SS is awesome but the gearing still sucks… I drove one and rode with it in the trails. Its not an east coast woods machine at all.

  128. Richard Davidson | November 24, 2016 at 11:16 am |

This is encouraging for the SideXSide owners! Thanks Rep Roberts for your efforts!

  129. Any thoughts on why Can Am went away from trail arm?

  130. HERE THE VIDEO!!! The new Arctic?
    It’s really great!

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GAGoHqRTDnQ

  131. I think you nailed this one with your analysis. Everybody who loves this hobby of course always wants to be bigger, stronger and faster. I think sometimes we can be paralyzed by HP, inches of travel or whatever the stat and your number 4 option “learn to have fun with what you have without needing to keep up with the Joneses” is some of the most logical advice I have heard not only for the Side by Side industry, but in life. Great Post!

  132. If i didn’t have two feet of snow on the ground i would have taken my Teryx out and tried it right after watching your video last night

  133. I like the hood but the grill and the lights are about the ugliest thing I have ever seen.

  134. Orlando Guerrero | December 30, 2016 at 2:18 pm |

I have an Artic cat 1000. Two belt gone in less than 500 miles. Any suggestion of solution is very welcomed I don’t know how to avoid damaging the belt, or use it differently than my quad moto. Is there a conversion kit available to use it with a chain or similar to motorcycle or car. Warrior61@gmail.com

  135. Yes. I do want a free can am maverick!

  136. They need to give it a car spy paint job 🙂

    Good scoop!

  137. Just another adjustable gadget to put in front of your every day non educated consumer to mess more things up.

  138. Tire weight has a significant affect on performance of your machine, so give this some thought before you purchase your next set!

  139. Along with what Doug commented. Without changing the springs or damper settings changing the unsprung mass (tires and wheels) from the factory setup has a varying effect on the suspension and ride dynamics, it can be minimal to a major difference. Wheel offset will also change scrub and your steering feeling (force taken to turn the wheel).

  140. So the “RIP Wildcat” line is nothing but wild speculation and borderline clickbait? The article says nothing about any models in the lineup.

    • Corey, that’s why there are question marks. We’re stuck trying to read between the lines right now with no real information from Arctic Cat either. With all the delays in releasing a new model that looked to use a Yamaha supplied engine, and now learning of the acquisition by a company which has their own engine division, it isn’t unreasonable to think that the direction of future models could be changing.

  141. “Who the heck is Textron?!” Was my our first thought as well. The future will be interesting for AC, we shall see what happens.

  142. …would be cool a trucklike look on the new cat1 😉 …which new cat btw.!?? ;- ()

  143. …hopefuly the wildcat story continues…!! lets hope the best for AC! love my wildcat!!

  144. thanx- good information

  145. If they just get rid of the rear cargo area they could save some length there, otherwise it will just be too long. That Wildcat 4 looks ridiculous.

  146. Rock Roberts | February 7, 2017 at 11:27 am |

UTV race is Wed. feb. 8

  147. Purchased 2 2016 xp turbo’s, have never had so many problems, with little to know solution from Polaris, I will never purchase another Polaris. I will buy a maverick next time hands down

  148. I have a 2014 Wildcat 1000X. I would like to know what the best Turbo Option is for this Motor. I want to maintain as much reliability as possible.

  149. Cat released an official comment regarding the RG Pro on Feb 10th. It stated the RG Pro was being delayed to a 2018 model with a summer release due to steering and roll over regulations imposed on UTV during recertification.

There’s also very common knowledge regarding the 998 motor being designed by Yamaha so it can be used in both snow AND dirt applications (see snow applications and the crank coupler and why it’s there).

  150. Hmm, hopefully they will redesign the wildcat. I’m really, really, really not a fan of the look…sorry nick.

  151. Sand Bus lol, not alot of good here in Michigan.

  152. 30 inch tires aren’t all that giant when you have a 135″ wheelbase. My regular cab K2500 has a shorter wheelbase and came with 31’s lol.

  153. I do believe Textron produces either the stampede, or intimidator line at their AR facility. Really is kinda cut and dry, either compete with the XP and Mav (leave x3out of it) or fold it up.

  154. the patent application is there and that means it’s under development, release timing is the question…….. and there is the newly released Yamaha turbo snowmobile engine as well…

  155. concerns about the alternators location? water damage?

  156. Nick, the wildcat is now great again. Lol. You need one.

  157. Nick, the wildcat is now great again!!!! Lol.

  158. Thoughts, in no particular order. Yamaha engine, nice! Did someone come out with a factory roll bar that actually will work as a roll bar?? The A-arms are the opposite of high clearance arms, That seems like a bad decision. Outside pretty ugly, inside pretty ugly.

  159. 77″ wide is going to really limit where this can be used, but it should be a lot of fun!

  160. I believe that the overwhelming amount of YXZ fails on YouTube is an indicator that the manual shift was not a deterrent to the novice buyer.

  161. My clutch smoked in under 4 hrs of riding. Took to dealer, of course it’s a wear item. But dealer worked with yamaha and they paid for 90 percent of it. Cost me 161.00 a 1/2 rack of beer, and I got the sweet ass barnett pressure plate and Kevlar rings

  162. Anonymous | March 8, 2017 at 2:14 pm |

The only problem the Yxz really had was that people were burning the clutch up….Thats it…usually from over slipping it in situations that it was not intended for…It really didn’t fail…The clutch is strong…but it is a clutch..The machine will do most things as any other but not by lugging it through..or taking it to 10500rpm and unloading it…Its knowing the unit and what works and what dont….

  163. Make Wildcat Great Again. Go by the Wildcat XX. then add the Turbo and go Blow some more tires! XD

  164. if it aint factory it aint right ! ive used the Polaris ps4 and Polaris oils for front dif and tranni and have 0 issues with my machines , never pays to go cheap !

  165. Go to 1:36 to see the crew. Nick next time do not make me wade through the whole parade :).

    • Sorry about that!!! Link was supposed to take you right there but it seems it isn’t working properly for everyone.

  166. That’s impressive, but it’s a straight up dune or desert race machine. There’s no way that monster would be allowed on our state trails.

  167. Are you kidding me? First off, there putting a non turbo machine against a turbo model from polaris. How bout they outfit the yxz’s with a turbo kit to equal out the playing field? Why, because the yxz would blow the belt slipper out of the dunes thats why. I guess these people that were interviewed were lazy and simple minded. Hit the gas and go (lame). Perhaps they should learn how to drive a manual and have more seat time behind the yxz before they make assumptions. These kind of people would rather ride a scrambler than a banshee cause its too hard to shift and pay attention to the dunes right? Lmao!!! Polaris is for the grandpa and soccer mom mini van driver and the un coordinated. Yxz for the win cause i like to have full control of my rig and pick when i want to shift not when the cvt wants to control my driving. Yxz is where its at!

  168. Leave it to Nick to try to dent the trailer… lol

I know this doesn’t pertain to the subject at hand but yesterday I bent my first lower trailing arm on my x3 ,I am asking as a sxsblogg fan which are the best in your opinion to replace

  172. there saying this fall for the new sxs, my guess is it will have the 80Hp German Motor they build with a turbo to 130Hp. http://www.textronmotors.com 🙂 Love that Textron WANTS to be best in every industry.

  173. Jason Zummallen | April 22, 2017 at 7:58 pm |

I have mixed feelings about this my good friend has a arctic cat dealer in Phoenix and he’s not sure how to take this either , it’s great that textron wants to be the best but the arctic car name is important ! as long as they get in the game with a quality high HP machine that’s reliable and priced under a RZR 1000 I think everything will be ok !

  174. another year- this is hard…
arctic cat is little known right now- textron- never heard of- glad they will keep the wildcat name – great vehicles!
hope evrthing will work out fine for the company changes…
what happen to these st.cloud company?

Have a good time in Glamis! I ride there a lot, couple of things to keep in mind. This time of year midday sun hides the drop offs and edges. Try to ride in the mornings and afternoon when there are shadows. Simple local knowledge that can save your ass. Also, guys, wrong time of year!!! Hot as he’ll there right now. Oct-March is the best time to go. Wish I had time to come out and show you around, helps tons to have a leader that knows the area. Headed to Utah next week myself, don’t know about Moab, but will hit coral pink sand dunes, sand hollow, and paiute trail. Maybe little Sahara. Enjoy you guys on YouTube, regular guys, funny as hell.

I love a new product, the challenge is real when it comes to SxS marketing.

  177. I don’t think we need a 110 HP bale hauler with 10″ of travel

  179. Speak for yourself Jimmy. Power is always a good thing.

my yxz 1000r 2016 had a manual clutch 1000 miles the clutch went slipping and quit pulling at 10.000 rpm Yamaha would not pay I paid to put in new clutch recluse it lasted 400 miles same thing did Yamaha change gearing in 2017 it is in shop again clutch waiting for Yamaha

  183. Anonymous | June 2, 2017 at 6:38 pm |

    Bring It!!

  184. …i pers. dont need 150hp or more- dont know how a. where all this guys r ridin!?? and- a turbo produces MUCH more heat and there are MUCH more parts to fail- i need a relaiable trailmachine so im fine with the non turbos…

  185. mericaneagle | June 8, 2017 at 4:27 pm |

That looks to be Tanner Foust’s race car…just saying….

  186. I have own many Polaris over the years. But and this is a big but. Entil they prove to me they can build a utv that won’t have recall after recall. I won’t be buying one.
They should get their quality control on order before they change anything

  187. Mike Ivers | June 10, 2017 at 3:39 pm |

One safety item I believe should be suggested is a padded “horse collar”. Your shoulder straps fit through sleeves on the collar. This collar can help prevent helmet whiplash (front to back movement). They are very helpful in case of an “endo” (rolling back over the front. The collars were used in sprint cars and NASCAR if I remember correctly. I used to race the original Honda Odyssies (with no rear suspension), so endo’s were a common occurrence.

Another item we used to wear were wrist restraints, these help keep your hands inside the cab and near the steering wheel. Don’t know if this works with SxS cars needing access to transmission levers.

Finally, wear gloves when driving to protect your hands. MX gloves work fine for this.

  188. The Polaris line back in the day was a good machine but over the last 10 years they have went down hill bad. I wheel bearings are junk after 500 miles or less the A arm bushing are also bad carrier bearing about ever 1000 miles then belts and recalls on top of all that. This goes to show all they care about is making money and not the customer. The RZR spends as must time being work on as being ridden. Yes they sell a lot but that’s due to marketing not delivering a good product.

    • Rzr's r us | June 19, 2017 at 9:05 pm |

Are you nuts? Polaris used to be crap. I’ve had many rzr’s and they’ve been great! Are their things that can be better? Yes, but they do seem to fix shortcomings with newer models.

  189. Michael S Hardy | June 14, 2017 at 4:20 pm |

Hi I am in 4 clubs that do ride’s for MS, Cancer ,are vet’s and so many more we bring in money to the town’s and the chairities. That help so many people but we need more trails and roads to get around .I know some think we tear it up but know we’re near what the loggers do on State land . We all pay are taxes for this land and I for one want the right to use it and injoy the beautiful sites would love it more if you would open your rustic camp grounds to ORV / ATVs as well would make more money for the DNR and put to use these camp grounds that are not being used so you don’t have to close them would also give clubs a point to meet there trails at to get thought Michigan and we. Could ride an camp are way across are great state thank you

  190. Not going to be able to go much bigger on the tires, they didn’t give much space in the wheel wells.

  191. The 2018 X3rs will have a bigger intercooler, slightly different clutch springs and weights and a few other improvements over the 2017.
Pretty much what’s in the upgrade kit for the 2017 will now be standard + the increased HP.
From what’s been a reliable Polaris source in the past comes the tale that the next Rzr will have nearly 190 HP, a new chassis design and a dope suspension.
“We’re determined to remain the segment leader as we always have been.”

  192. Lee Vining | June 28, 2017 at 8:49 am |

did you do any internal engine work or would you recommend any for running 5lbs of boost with the supercharger

    • No internal work on this one. As a rule of thumb they can handle 5lbs stock without an issue. There were some manufacturing issues that caused some rods to fail under low boost and even applications, but as long as you aren’t one of the unlucky ones who got one of those you’ll be fine.

  205. are you doing this with the Maverick you bought in Jersey ?

  206. Pretty neat but do you realize that “leaks” can cost some a career?

  218. If a leaked photo could cost your job, maybe you shouldn’t take photos? I think it will be pretty sweet, I love my x3 but if they could make an x3 teryx4 love child, I’d buy 2.

  219. I’ve been wanting a new Odysey/Pilot type rig. This looks pretty good but I still feel like the seating can ‘ve lower and the front clip is eat to big and high. But I always bash the new stuff until I get used to it and start liking it.

  220. Looks like a blast but the fun the fun of a sxs is to take someone else with you to scare the shit out of lol

  221. Looks good. Too bad it’s made by Polaris, LOL! I’m looking at YOU Arctic Cat/Textron!

  222. Jesse LeBreton AKA JesseLebby on Youtube | January 30, 2018 at 1:17 pm |

For me a product like this is a situational thing. I used to ride dirt bikes, then 3-wheelers, then 4-wheelers. Today when I ride, I like to have a companion riding with me, not behind, or in front, on a separate machine eating dust. It’s the reason why I switched to a SXS. But I would not be against taking one of these out for a day if no one came with me. So in a perfect world I would own a 1 seater like this and 2 seater.

  223. LOL – that’s an internal © photo. I’d call my lawyers if I were you guys.

    • Got it right from the internet bro. Not my fault Polaris accessories doesn’t know how to not publish their websites.

  224. Again, to bad it’s a POLARIS!

  225. Jayson Pasch | January 30, 2018 at 2:56 pm |

Don’t plan on Arctic Cat or text wrong and giving you anything to look at for anytime soon

  226. Looks amazing. Can’t wait for this machine to come out!

  227. Steve Hubbard | January 31, 2018 at 12:21 pm |

Not a big Polaris fan however this should be a big seller for them. Much better than the their first try at it. I used to race Honda Pilots and still have 2 of them great machines. To bad Honda did not reproduce them.

  228. I’ll wait till next year when they come with a RZR RS1 Turbo!!

  229. I only hope this is true. I loved the New Can Am last trip to the dunes but wished my Wildcat could have the HP that it always needed.
Not worried about the suspension of the Wildcat when it comes to the dunes , that is where it is at IMO

  230. What about the exposed belt on the SC? Any concerns there or are you going to make a cover?

  231. You guys should try using a boot string (aka shoe string just a little stronger) for taking sprints on and off just put it in a u shape hook u in spring wrap other two ends around your hands and pull. Never slips off never have bloodie knuckles best part is it will be the cheapest tool you own

  232. Any word on the four seater version.

  233. Can someone with the new x3 xmr tell how the ride is on it is it close to the x3

  234. I agree, I have always used factory lubes! These machines are designed and tested with thier own lubricants with specific consideration to engine type and in the case of Arctic Cat and Yamaha the internal wet clutches.

  235. I’d like to point out another reason one might be happy without the latest most powerful machine! I ride in Wisconsin and we have an awsome trail system, but alot of our trails are tight and twisty. These high horse power, big travel and wide machines cant really be used to thier full potential. Kind of like paying $15,000 more for a Ford Raptor just to drive on the street. Dont get wrong I like big power as much as the next guy, but if you cant make use of it, why fork out extra $$$$ if you cant use it. I’m still having fun driving 07 Rhino!

  236. You should check out Sand Hollow, UT while you are in the area.

    • Unfortunately time is going to be pretty limited for us this trip, but we definitely wanna get back to Utah!

  237. Don’t give away all them stickers!! Some Yoopers would love some to place on our machines. Enjoy your trip!!

  238. Hi my name is owen waldfogel. I was wondering if sometime if we could plan a ride together. We ride fast we have a can am maverick x3 xrs max. I was thinking maybe we could ride in grayling this summer i am a very big fan!!

    • Hey Owen, thanks for following! We have been talking about putting together a group ride to meet some fans, so keep your eyes open and we’ll make an announcement as soon as we have some solid plans!

  239. Really looking forward to some abusive racing like the old vids.
    Enjoy the ride boys.

  240. See ya sunday

  241. Are you guys headed to dumont sat night or sunday morning ???

  242. when’s excellent adventure no. 2

  243. Tim and cathy | April 11, 2018 at 8:42 pm |

    Where’s the love button , “ it’s morethan a like video “

  244. I noticed that SxS Blog used a Duramax 2500 HD to tow your new trailer to the championship races. How did this rig do on this trip? Just curious.

    • The Nicks would have to give you more detail but from what I heard the power was great, the fuel mileage was not great. lol

  245. Loved the tow rig (2500 HD Duramax). How did it work for this trip?

  246. Chris Yakubesan | April 19, 2018 at 5:57 pm |

Amazing videos and great information. Doug, Nick, the other Nick way to go and love the rigs.

  247. Anonymous | May 10, 2018 at 10:19 am |

Great to see this shootout per say… but to be fair most all off-road shootouts use same tires to take out that variable. Especially since it was raining and slippery.

    • Tires have an impact for sure, but this is what they come with from the factory and therefore how they perform from the factory in this situation.

  248. In this comparison test it would be handy to know about the accessibility to the air filters/spark plugs/CVT belts. From a quick trailer on the XX I saw that Robbie Gordon had some here. For example, spring clips to keep the belt cover on (no tools required).

  249. In this comparison, how easy is it to get to the plugs, air filter and CVT belts between the various machines?

  250. What broke on the first xx? I just bought one and now I’m concerned.

  251. Don Spencer | May 28, 2018 at 1:03 am |

Great story SXSblog! Keep up the good work too, Chris.

  252. Anonymous | May 30, 2018 at 4:58 pm |

Too Cool. I’ll be updating mine

  253. Anonymous | May 30, 2018 at 6:41 pm |

    This would be awesome.

  254. Bumpertrash | May 30, 2018 at 7:06 pm |

    Interesting

  255. Ryan Duarte | May 30, 2018 at 7:33 pm |

I have a 2014 Ford Fiesta Titanium Sedan that has a DCT and it’s a piece of shit. Shutters on take off, sometimes does not downshift, sometimes doesn’t know what to do. Ford will not fix or issue a recall and there’s a class action lawsuit that for some reason the appealed. Google Ford fiesta transmission problems. You can see why I am a little hesitant on Canam heading in this direction. Hopefully they figured out how to make it work. Why can’t they just put a good ole fashioned automatic transmission.

  256. Michael Desilets | May 30, 2018 at 9:47 pm |

Good work detectives. Interesting to ponder the possibilities.

  257. Michael Desilets | May 30, 2018 at 9:50 pm |

    Was Nick in low initially?

  258. Love to see it happen and then work the bugs out.

  259. Elecktronic transmission control… yeah that’s exactly what I want, more crapp to go wrong I’m perfectly happy with my X3

  260. Paintendave | May 31, 2018 at 7:53 am |

    Cool thanks for the 411!

  261. There goes my $! Just what I’ve been holding out for.

  262. Point 6 could be, they handle a lot more horsepower. Would allow for BRP to bring the machine out in 225 then 255hp versions maybe. Just sayin

  263. Jason Osborn | May 31, 2018 at 8:58 pm |

I have been holding off due to our family recovering from a house fire but if this happens we are 100% in. We have been watching all the vids and keeping up with the industry while we have been waiting and this is what will force my hand finally. Thanks for your hard work guys!

  264. Jim (Steele) Cooney | June 1, 2018 at 5:16 am |

Awesome news. I’ll be waiting for the day I can place my order.

  265. Honda has them in motorcycles and they work well. I can’t see adding one to a current X3, the cost would be horrific.

  266. Jason Osborn | June 1, 2018 at 11:10 am |

Got rid of the 900HO from the website. Only turbo models are listed under the x3 for what its worth. New colors are cool for sure. Knew the diff would happen. It was one of the “weak” points that people complained most about as well as the steering. Wondering what the difference is between the Smart-lok differentials. There are 3 versions; Trail Activ, Rock Mode and Mud Mode. Glad to see they are knocking out some of the easier things before the new stuff comes out later this year. Also am I crazy or are the BRP window nets and door mounted mirrors new as well?

  267. Anonymous | June 1, 2018 at 11:25 pm |

Get rid of the belt then they will be on top for sure, don’t think I’ll get any disagreement I don’t expect.

  268. Interesting call on it being Can-Am..but whoever it is, it will get interesting.
But some food for thought…about 12 months ago there was talk of a new ‘manual’ transmission for the RZR, Polaris are scheduled to have all new RZR announced early next year (supposedly the 2020 model) which will obviously up the HP stakes and late last year they got a patent for electronic control of transmission (which in the patent, it hints that maybe a transmission with a sub transmission aka Transfer case). Also have to consider that according to rumours the new Can Am X-whatever is already pretty much done and dusted and due for release (later this year)

Now there is no mention of DCT, but you could argue it might be Polaris…

  269. So there basicallt gonna do what yamaha did with the sport shift YXZ?

  270. Jason Osborn | June 6, 2018 at 1:36 pm |

I see paddle shift mentioned. Is it still bump shift or is it a true paddle shift now?

    • You’ll be able to get both styles as you can today. The “SS” is paddle shifted, the others are a traditional sequential manual or “bump shift”.

  271. john schlimback | June 13, 2018 at 10:02 pm |

Doug .. are you stoked ? Could this machine be in your future? Inquiring minds want to know ?

    • I’ll say it’s not out of the question, lol. It isn’t quite all I was hoping for though.

  272. Um, the red one sitting in the back!

  273. Jess Orpet | June 17, 2018 at 2:28 pm |

Appears to be a red one like the green one in the background. The green and blue are strapped down to a crate and the blue is strapped down tighter which may appear to be different widths. The red shows true ride height, cant tell actual width.

  274. Michael Desilets | June 17, 2018 at 2:49 pm |

Your observations appear accurate. No cross bracing in cage. Unequal size rims and tires. Motor? Any speculation?

  275. Looks a lot Ike the old maverick design. DCT blah. Hope it does well though. Honda is traditionally behind in the horsepower wars, will be interesting to see if this is the same story.

  276. Scarabino23 | June 17, 2018 at 3:32 pm |

Notice the red one in the back? You think that’s the same just a different color or a different model

  277. Tyler Lynskey | June 17, 2018 at 3:41 pm |

The red one in the back…

  278. I like it!!!! so what’s the price???

  279. Xx and an RZR had a baby lol

  280. Being a pioneer 1000-5 deluxe owner I can hardly wait to see the dct in something lighter with more travel and hopefully more power. Would love to see some Honda content on the YouTube channel.

  281. Anonymous | June 17, 2018 at 5:01 pm |

Hopefully it isn’t the same power unit that’s in the Pioneer!

  282. Dougpounds | June 17, 2018 at 6:01 pm |

Why in the hell would they not go with a red and white. When I first saw the picture that said spy shot I thought it was a textron unit.

  283. Dougpounds69 | June 17, 2018 at 6:04 pm |

Why would they pick those colors and not a red and white! When I first saw the spy shot om IG i immediately thought it was a textron unit

  284. Looks pretty cool there’s always room for more competition!!!!

  285. Anonymous | June 17, 2018 at 8:01 pm |

    Been waiting too long

  286. What dumbass spelled Honda on the green crate???

  287. The Honda sxs.com on the green one is spelled wrong…just saying

    • The Hondasxs website edited their name in there, just a simple typo, not a conspiracy, lol.

  288. Thought you said Can Am were going to have DCT first?

    • Not first, Honda already has one in production in the pioneer. Check out the article again!

  289. Red one is wider than blue, but does not have trailing arm suspension of green one, nor as wide. Just observing

  290. Is that paddle shift levers I spy over the dash on the green one?

  291. Each one has a roof included. A front bumper and a winch also.

  292. Two of the machines are still pulled down by straps, so probably all the same height as the red one at the back that isn’t strapped down. Don’t see bead locks on the wheels anywhere either. Might be 3 different equipment levels, noting the wheels are different on each. Maybe gps and mag wheels in one, but not in the other, steel wheels on the green one etc.

  293. Picture 1 and three have been photo shopped. Notice hodna is different spelling in the 3rd photo honda. I presume someone is trying to get their website noticed with these photos.

  294. Scott halstead | June 18, 2018 at 1:15 am |

Wait, is this fake news? The one pic of the green one says HODNA, and in the other picture it is spelled correctly?

    • The Hondasxs forum edited their name into the pics (pretty standard, we do it all the time), and they just made a typo on that one.

  295. Looks like they are building 1 shipping crate for the Talon 2 seater and the Talon 4 seater will fit into extra wheel chocks farther forward! (4seats?)

  296. The blue one is definitely narrower and the different graphics plus not having the 1000 on the upper quarter panel like the green and red (red appears to have the same as the green but hard to tell) makes me curious if it’s not a 60” to complete with the rzr “S” models.

  297. Honda will be there!IMO these are 3 different testers to bring to the production line.I’m ready to see what it’s going to bring to the desert ( racing)

  298. Soo, you touch the shifter and a clutch is engaged?

  299. Josh Taylor | June 22, 2018 at 11:40 am |

I’m curious to know what the power plant will be.

  300. I’m a Red Rider so this is a welcome addition. Looking forward to plopping down inside the cockpit and getting familiar with it. Being a senior citizen- my back needs good support and comfort after abusing it for so many years. The current Honda lineup is nice, but offers nothing sporty. Super firm bench seats are not my thing.

  301. Would not be surprised to see the Honda 1000cc Twin in one or both of the machines. Maybe even with a Manual/paddle shift 5 speed.

  302. I know you guys are mostly Sport machine oriented. Since you seem to be getting Tester units now…..any chance at a “Sport/Rec/Trail” (X2/Havoc/General/Commander/S900/S1000/Mav Sport) test?

  303. Unfortunetly kawasaki is not a big name in the side by side market for making powerhouses. But with a 3 year warranty on all their stuff at the moment i would have no doubt that it will be stront.

  304. Anonymous | July 12, 2018 at 4:48 am |

Keep in mind 50” with more power than the brute 750 please I’ll take two.

  305. Anonymous | July 12, 2018 at 7:51 pm |

Not bad..longer warranty helps and stronger cages..more power better belt cooling.if the graphics, plastics and price is close to the competition I’m in!!!!

  306. Not bad..longer warranty helps and stronger cages..more power better belt cooling.if the graphics, plastics and price is close to the competition I’m in!!!!

  307. Anonymous | July 12, 2018 at 9:31 pm |

    Is this shit fir real?

  308. Why not base on their V-Twin? They can make big numbers, and sound awesome!

  309. This is very encouraging to see interest in the SXS market going to the next level. Personally, I have never been this excited about playing off-road since riding my first brand new trail bike back in 1982. Exciting times for sure!

  310. Kudos to R&D for the rear mounted Radiator Wonder if Polaris has ever heard us complain of hot feet and legs from the front mounted rad and coolant lines…. hmmm heard us have you?

  311. Wow, I’m pretty excited about this thing! Can’t wait to see what it looks like with skins.

  312. Any mention of other turbo s features making it to other models, like the new bigger stronger front dif, or beefed up components? Id like those features on a 64” Turbo Dynamix model.

  313. Any word of changes to the Turbo S Canada sold out so I’m waiting on a 2019
    Colour options?

  314. Michael Messner | August 17, 2018 at 8:04 am |

Very cool – what power are these in? how did they perform and fit/finish?

  315. The 2019 Can-Am Sport is a sweet ride. 60” is nice here in the Eastern US woods and trails.

  316. A 4 seater would be killer

  317. Damn it ! Cool go Lenardo ! Get ya some hahaha
Hey when’s that sand trip Video with new tires coming out ?? Freaking bored here in SanDiego LMAO

  318. Bryan Vroom | August 27, 2018 at 1:55 am |

Damn you’re finally in my neck of the woods and I missed it.☹️

  319. Keep on working, great job!

  320. Any word on 2019 1000 Turbo 4 Dynamix. The one on the Polaris website is a 2018. I see its the same for the Turbo s. I am wondering if the new 1000 Turbo 4 will be like the S?

    Thanks

  321. Johnnie Smith | September 2, 2018 at 1:06 pm |

    Any news on a DCT?

  322. Looks like an entry-level sport build. One step above farm tool. Small step.

  323. Joel Shurtleff | September 14, 2018 at 1:54 am |

    I want 1..

  324. Take out the back seats and shoehorn in a Chevy LS engine. 🙂 Regardless that unit looks fast!

  325. Hi i want to send you guys a little gift from Baja Mexico, could you please send me your adress to ship it to you? BTW very nice videos love the channel.
    Congrats

  328. Chester Williams | October 17, 2018 at 5:54 pm |

My 2018 Razor XP1000 came with WAlker Evans shocks and in my opinion the springs are all wrong for the Nevada desert. I am looking for advise on who to purchase replacement springs.

  329. Andrew Garcia | October 22, 2018 at 7:03 pm |

Hope to see you guys out there.

  330. Dave Barrette | November 7, 2018 at 12:11 am |

I’m interested in the latest stage 6 EVO kit you recently installed on beast mode.

  331. I wish they would stay with the Vtwin as well. I know the triples are powerful but live Vtwin torque and sound.

  332. Love the videos, keep em coming ,you’re doing an amazingly job relating the true test of the products that you are highlighting

  333. William Lutz | November 29, 2018 at 7:54 am |

    It’s the bomb!!

  334. I’m a Honda guy and I want one!

    • LOL I am a honda guy 1999 honda ex and 2006 CBR1000RR I am going yamaha YXZ 1000SS sorry hatge the look to etch of his own

  335. Aaron Debuais | November 29, 2018 at 2:40 pm |

Do you guys think it will compete with the Wildcat XX?

  336. I’m waiting to see you guys actually test one before I decide

  337. When are you getting one?

  338. Any rumors about a turbo model?

  339. I didn’t like it at first but the looks are growing on me

  340. Being a Honda Pioneer 1000 owner, I am excited to give this philly a go. No, it is not flashy, but I really do not care. Hopefully they have made improvements to the DCT over what the Pioneer has. Looks like an additional alternative to those who don’t mind being in that sporty but not extreme sporty territory.

  341. The content Honda put out with the release seemed to be directed more at investors than potential customers. It led me to believe they still don’t ‘get it’ and still don’t take this industry seriously. It feels more like ‘we need to have an offering’ and not ‘let’s build the best machine’ in this class. Sure, this will excite the Honda loyalists but I think the younger generation has grown up viewing Honda as the boring company known for reliability rather than a company that puts out exciting products like Polaris and Can-Am.

  342. 7.3 gal fuel tank? With DCT and efficient parallel twin, hoping it can go at least 100 miles on the trails.

  343. You guys are the best gang on the interweb Love to watch your shenanigans and real world “TRUTH” I too am a Honda guy… who bought an XP1K in 2015 because My Rincon (Had since new in 2003, over 30,000 kilometers on her) She beats me up now as I’m gettin past 60. After I watch your review, I will make my decision on selling the XP1K for the 1000R… in that beauty red of course….

  344. Any chance on getting a test drive comparison of the new talon and the 19 yxz ss se? Plan on purchasing one of these models, I would love to hear your opinions on both before I buy. love the vids, keep them coming!

    • We’re going to pull together a big shootout with all of them, yes!

      • And that’s why I love you guys you cover all your bases when you compare machines. In your opinion means a lot. It will take a lot for me to steer away from the Polaris 1000 turbo S. Unless it’s defeated and defeated In a big way

  345. The XX is almost 300 pounds heavier but 4″ longer, these two should be very similar. Its also interesting how the rake of the trailing arms on the Talon are similar to the angle of a dirt bike swing arm.

  346. I like it but am on the wait and see bandwagon. I was dead set on the YXZ SSSE in white for the extra goodies. This has made me feel like I need to hold off for now. My biggest concern is the I-4WD thing. For those of us in the “never belt drive” camp, life really did just get better SxS.

  347. Arch Stanton | December 3, 2018 at 10:43 pm |

I think it is probably going to prove to be a good first step into the market. I sincerely hope Honda doesn’t rest on it’s corporate laurels now. There is a market for a 72 inch wide 150+ HP turbocharged machine to compete head to head against the others. If Honda offers such a machine with the DCT and this suspension they will have my utmost attention. I will be in the market for a new machine in 18 months. I hope to be looking at a Honda then.

  348. The first thing the guys should do is put it on the Dino and find out how many horsepower it actually puts out and then put it to the test. And test it extremely hard exactly like you do the Polaris and Cam models.

  349. Sounds like a lighter, quicker model that should be more race ready. I’d love to get the Battlefield addition though.

  350. Jason Osborn | January 29, 2019 at 2:17 pm |

That is Siiiiiiiick! Pricing will be everything for this model. If it hits a decent price point I think it can really sell.

  351. Marc Leukhardt | January 29, 2019 at 4:01 pm |

    Dear Team,

When you guys receive your Talon, please do a legit long term test, with periodic updates from different terrains/regions. Please no lame ass tracks, weirdo tires, gay seats… keep it legit, and stock for a period of time, then go apeshit on it. If you are ever in the Reno area (one of the highest densities of UTV ownership in the country) I’d like to hook up with guys, we have the best terrain in the country for riding, 90 minutes from Rubicon, 90 minutes from Sand Mountain, 60 minutes from Fordyce, Moon Rocks is in our back yard. Rocks, Trails, Sand, High Desert, Forrest, Snow, Mud, high speed desert roads…all near by. Love your channel, and blog, keep up the good work.

    Go fast and take chances!

President Del Fuegos Off Road Association,
    AMA/SRA/AFM Crew Chief

  352. Mike Tallis | February 1, 2019 at 1:22 pm |

After watching you guys film it in person at the auto show, I was more impressed with the looks of the machine. The photos don’t do it justice for sure. I think it will do well for a non-turbo unit.

  353. Michael Messner | February 4, 2019 at 9:54 am |

Sweet – is there a MSRP on this?

  354. Hi, do you have any insight as to when these (Velocity edition) will be hitting dealerships? This will be my weapon of choice to start my new build! Love your vid’s, keep it up.

  355. As a Honda fan that’s owned a multitude of machines including Pioneers and chose Yami as a close second with ownership on those also, I hope the Talon comes out swinging. Not excited about a first year machine so I’m hoping to get very solid reviews over 6 months or so before hoping onto the bandwagon of gotta haves. I truly hope you guys here have opportunity to compare these soon.
Come on Honda let’s see those legs stretch, this is the place to do that!

  356. I have to say I love you guys. I too love to go fast and huck my Honda 450R. I’ve been a Honda fan since my first XR 75 in the 70s. I was expecting Honda to try and compete with the razor turbo s but now I’m worried that Honda I not in the running. I’m going to wait for you guys to do a review. I might have to trade brands.
I’m on the fence for a side by side. Keep the blog reviews coming.
Do you think we can take a in line twin and get comparable hp with a turbo not sure if it can be done.

  357. Did they do anything with front and rear diffs and axles? Seem like they are a weak point across the board (with the exception of the Turbo).

  358. Dan "El Salto" R | March 5, 2019 at 1:36 am |

Hey guys, love your videos on YouTube! Had to comment. I just bought the new Velocity edition because my 2016 XP Turbo is in the shop getting fixed with blown head gasket. I have to say after putting 175 miles on it these last 2 weekends in Glamis, it is a huge improvement and I am really happy with it, even stock. I can’t wait to feel it with sand tires and some better springs at least. One thing I have on the 2016 is the Shock Therapy tune. I really wish Polaris would put a tender spring that has some movement so the chop doesn’t kill you. I feel like the first thing I want to do is fix the springs. Then because of watching your videos, I want to do the Evo Tune. MSRP $25,399 which Coyne Powersports in El Centro gave me a good deal (thanks Chris!)

  359. Just read (watched) the reviews on the X and the R. I’ve been waiting for the DCT and paddle shifting, the Pioneer was a big disappointment. I really like the fact that it has the low range to. We are trail and rock crawler people and I think the R, with the longer wheelbase, might just be the one for us. The only thing that worries me is the I4 four wheel drive system. Maybe a video dedicated to rock crawling would help educate me on the good and bad points of the I4 system. Good job guys!

The Ride Command never got much love from Polaris. It seems like they forgot about it a long time ago. The last update was in 2016. Can’t even use my GoPro 7 with it, last one supported is the GoPro 5.

  361. Great review. This will help a lot in my buying decision. I love the sound when your ripping but sometimes I like to do easy cruising. If your cruising easy without full helmets, can you talk with the passenger without yelling? I rode in a CanAm Commander when they first came out and I couldn’t stand the loud droan (not exhaust sound)of the engine. Also I’ve been told the Pioneer has a lot of gear noise when driving. Did you notice any that on the Talon. Cabin heat is another concern. Looks like you drove on a cool day but did you sense much engine heat in the cabin? DOn’t want to get roasted on a warm day. Best review I’ve seen on the Talon. Keep up the good work.

  362. What location were you in?

  363. Is a 4 seater in the future sounds pretty bad ass so far

  364. Why don’t you evaluate the CF Moto SXS as I have one and would be interested in you’re opinion.

  365. I just bout the turbo s 4 and changed out the stock muffler. Do I need to do a tuner on on it.

    • If you want to get some real power out of it then yes! An EVO tune is the way to go. You won’t hurt it running it without though.

  366. Deb Niles | June 3, 2019 at 10:03 pm |

beautiful, we have a 4 seater 2015 1000 razor and are looking to update. How much is going to run?

  367. Elijah Rich | June 3, 2019 at 11:11 pm |

Bam! I nailed it on the guessing game.

  368. Fast Freddy Muldoon | June 4, 2019 at 8:39 am |

Honda just upped the ante. Exciting times for our hobby.

  369. Jim Gerken | June 4, 2019 at 9:57 am |

Hill start assist is standard on 2019 talons.

  370. I think it’s a awesome step-up on Can-ams part. I have had to put a lot of money into my 2017 X3 xrs Max to get 200HP so I know that people will enjoy 195HP out of a stock unit. Keep it up Can-am, I will always be loyal.

  371. That XMR !

  372. Honestly would have thought they would have went straight to 200hp. I feel like they left the door open on that one. Nevertheless it’s awesome.

    • It’s going to be very interesting to see what Polaris has to answer back with. It’s been 168/172 which isn’t much between the two but to make the leap to 195 is pretty substantial. Why 195 when they could have easily thrown the gauntlet down and made the 1st factory 200hp SXS. It’s only 5hp but it sounds so much better!

  373. Mark Carr | June 4, 2019 at 1:14 pm |

And my want for a turbo car just grew yet again.. man o man i wish i could take on that payment lol

  374. David Benear | June 4, 2019 at 6:14 pm |

    When will they be available?

  375. Brad Schafer | June 4, 2019 at 10:07 pm |

When I got my 2018, I thought I would never get another machine, guess I was wrong.

  376. Conrad Monroe | June 5, 2019 at 10:04 am |

I have been planning to by my 1st SXS this fall. Honda, Polaris and Can-Am are making it hard to choose! Right now it is looking like the X3 XRC Turbo RR is checking most of my boxes. It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown!

  377. Anonymous | June 5, 2019 at 10:47 am |

    Poor Rick.

  378. Darryl Hale | June 5, 2019 at 1:04 pm |

See now why my 2019 was such a good deal. To be honest the power of the 19 is pretty impressive as is and I can do alot with the 5k I saved

  379. Well, 195 horsepower is nice, but what have they done to increase the life of the belt? More horsepower will lessen the life.

  380. Michael Messner | June 7, 2019 at 2:23 pm |

I am super excited, however in the past with higher power snowmobiles it was difficult to do clutch setup and read a digital display during really hard pulls. I like the needles and know at a glimpse where my RPM’s are or should be and NOT where to be. Now, what will this cost?

    • I tend to agree, prefer the needles

      • Michael Messner | June 17, 2019 at 1:46 pm |

I spent $450.00 on a vector gage with a NON digital tachometer for my 08 Nytro (supercharge) just to get the clutching correct. And at hard pulls it was still hard to read. lol

  381. Damn! And I’m almost done with customizing 2018 X3, SHIT!!

  382. Anonymous | June 8, 2019 at 10:09 am |

    When will it hit dealerships

  383. Mike Messner | June 11, 2019 at 2:51 pm |

Everything looks great – Can’t wait to test drive it.

  384. To think that it was not long ago that the Rhino was the machine. Remember when the Teryx with it’s EFI 750 TWIN hit the market…then the mighty 800s?
My how far we have come.
Competition between the manufacturers is a wonderful thing…for us.
Polaris is up to bat next I think. There dealer meetings are in July.
I am looking at buying in the fall.

  385. Nice work on this video. Love your stuff. We developed some RokBlokz for the Talon two-seater. Looking forward to this 4-seater.

  386. David Winter | June 20, 2019 at 12:18 pm |

New unit on order as we speak.

  387. biggest thought/question: how will this compare to the 2020 Polaris. I have been a can am fan but looking at them both its a hard call. I watch your channel and your surrounded by Polaris’s. Why are you an X3 fan when your buds have RZR’s
lastly, when will XRC RR be available to purchase because that’s the one I am eye balling

  388. How much boost can the stock engine hold and still be reliable I wonder?

  389. Michael Messner | July 29, 2019 at 8:58 am |

The review was awesome, and the video of the punishment this machine took was crazy. Sous – you have balls of steel and going 80 mph in a new machine was impressive.

Could you feel a difference with the DYNAMIX control suspension Vs. The non? Many do not like the redesign; however, I find it awesome. So many great machines to chose from,

Thank you for the great review and videos.

  390. Michael Messner | August 2, 2019 at 9:04 am |

Great write – a couple of questions for the BLOG; do you think the cage will need to be an aftermarket for better strength like the “S” or past models? Or with the larger 2” tubes it should be fine?

Leonardo had always commented on the interior of the X3 fitting his 6’ 4” frame better, does the RZR feel the same?

With the seating being a little lower and 6” longer leg room, Sous stated in the X3 it feels like you’re riding in it, and the RZR you’re riding on it. Is this still the feeling?

I am very excited about what the New Generation RZR brings to the table and with larger fuel capacity and power. I would love the opportunity to take a week-long trip across the upper peninsula of Michigan with this experience everything it has to offer. Looks like a base model Pro could be my next upgrade.

    • I think the cage on this one will be fine for the vast majority of riders, certainly the best one they’ve had.

It did fit Leo well now, he had no fitment issues, and the lower seating position definitely makes you feel more “in it” compared to the old XP chassis.

  391. Jaran Higley | August 2, 2019 at 10:19 am |

I like what they have done, seems like most existing RZR owners are not to pleased. Once it gets out into the public I think opinions will change!

  392. Fast Freddy Muldoon | August 3, 2019 at 10:14 pm |

    Doug said:
“Polaris engineers have added a coolant vent line to the the top of the head to help bleed out trapped air which has plagued some owners and been the cause of overheating in the past.”
    ————————————————————
This is a much needed/appreciated update. Kapper Outdoors was having this issue with his 2019 Ranger. As far as the New RZR- I like this unit and am looking forward to the torture test on the Gauntlet. Keep up the good work fellas. BTW when is Cleetus coming? Inquiring minds want to know. 🙂

  393. CrazyOffroader | August 7, 2019 at 1:54 pm |

Biggest take away I thought I heard was this was the new platform going forward . I know it’s super early but assuming the “S” will be here 2021 with some far superior upgrades . I am purchasing this month (August ) and honestly I can’t make my mind up for a 19 “S” or this pro XP?!?!? I know they are dealing on 19’s now hard

  394. Todd Cunningham | August 8, 2019 at 3:43 am |

I think the new Pro will be successful and the successor to the XP in the next couple of years. No reason to have both the XP & XP Pro. I also suspect the Pro 4 will be a huge hit with the market.

It clearly looks like Polaris took many ideas from the X3, XX & Talon. IMO the telescoping steering wheel is the best original improvement they made. Most other improvements seem to already be on other machines. But adding those to the Polaris will make it that more interesting to the consumer.

I thank you for telling the truth about the wheel travel numbers. That’s something Polaris likes to exaggerate (lie) about. There is no such thing as “Usable Travel” it’s a marketing ploy Polaris came up with. If this is how real Travel was measured then Trophy Trucks would have 50+ inches, and the Baja bugs would have 25+ inches. Wheel travel no matter how you measure is the amount of up & down movement the suspension has measured from gib center.

Do you know if the improved suspension did anything to reduce or fix the bumpsteer issues with both the front & rear suspension?

While the chassis looks much stronger then previous Polaris models, I think they still missed the mark with the upper cage. Even at 2 inch diameter, it’s going to fail. The lack of triangulation & diagonal bar in the “B” pillar area is a huge fail. Then with the “A” pillar laid back, it looks great, but increases the point of failure and collapsing in. Can Am had to add the big gusset and they still fail at that point. Also the upper cage looks to bolt to tabs or brackets at the B pillar (not directly to a chassis tube) and the rear kicker down tubes again don’t bolt to the tube chassis but a set of tabs that will easily fail vs a tube mount.

I wish Polaris would add rear bumper as part of the chassis to protect the exhaust & rear suspension pivot points. It looks as if they have a small front bumper. Do you know how that is mounted to the chassis?

Even with the issues found in the XX, I believe the XX still has the best & strongest chassis design of all current UTV platforms, but the Pro is a big improvement for Polaris.

  395. Another interesting fact. Polaris it touting the 181 hp which is a gain of 13 hp, and so many who have tested the new XP Pro claim it to be a huge improvement.

But hears a little fact. The XP Pro actually has less HP per lbs vs. the XP1000.

    XP1000, 1512 lbs @ 168 hp. = .111 hp per lbs.
    XP Pro, 1750 lbs @ 181 hp. = .103 hp per lbs

I believe the gain felt in the Pro are actually in the clutching, and maybe from the improved drivetrain and not the actual HP increase.

In a race UTV you could feel the power gain after Weddle rebuilt the trans. They instal high quality bearings, polish & shotpening the gears and setting all the tolerances correctly.

Looks like a great sxs. Getting ready to buy would you recommend the xp pro or can-can x3 ds r. Room great ride and reliability are my main concerns.
